There is nothing sweeter than the sense of belonging, which is fostering community is a core principle at More Than Movement. When we moved to Northern Liberties in May, expanding our community remained a top goal.
We’re excited to announce that this month, we’re launching a partnership with a fellow neighborhood business, Tula Yoga + Wellness.
Beginning on Wednesday, July 19, More Than Movement is hosting a 4-week Introduction to Strength Training program exclusively for Tula Yoga + Wellness members. Our 45-minute sessions will take place on Wednesday evenings and participants will learn the basics of full-body strength training.
Our goal is to educate about the benefits of strength training that are specific to improving yogis’ bodyweight practice on the mat. Participants will learn foundational movement patterns including push, pull, squat, hinge, and lunge.
While we believe that strength training benefits every facet of life, we understand that people have very real and valid resistance to it for many reasons. So, if we can find that thing that already makes people tick, like yoga, and demonstrate how it will support something they’re passionate about, we have endless opportunities to enhance people’s lives through strength training.
Tula Yoga + Wellness opened its doors in December 2019 and is keyed in on the importance of overall health and wellness. It provides a range of services including physical therapy, massage therapy, and new parents’ programs. There is a focus on providing a “safe and nurturing environment for practitioners” where people can come together to practice yoga, connect with one another and enjoy some much-needed self-care.
